I was starting to lose hope on Tomiko coz i thought she wasn't going to do so well as a solo artist. I don't know why but now I think i'm wrong. Looks like she's doing pretty well. I think avex is doing a great job handling her. Her songs are being used for plenty of projects. GO TOMIKO!!!!!!! This time, it will be used as the theme song for a TBS drama called "Oishii Puropo-zu" (delicious proposal? ^_^) It will start airing on April 23, 2006 every week, sundays at 9:00 pm
The single will be released on June 7, 2006. OH MY GOD! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

It says here that Van Tomiko's (ex-do as infinity vocalist, turned solo artist) song "Nue No Naka Yoru" from her debut album "Farewell" (released last March 29,2006) will be used as the theme song for NHK's new thursday historical drama.
I can't translate the title but the drama started airing last April 6, 2006. It's on NHK every thursday at 8:00 pm to 8:43pm (what a weird schedule ^^ why not make it 8:45?)

I was too lazy to update because of all the things that i was asked to do. I'm taking up review classes in preparation for college entrance examinations. Even if it's only every weekend, i have it from 8am to 5pm saturdays and sundays......english just finished. i still have math and 2 weekends for science.

Anyway, it's been a while since i last updated and i think it's about time i did. L'Arc~en~Ciel's song Jojoshi will be out on May 18th. I don't think Popjam will be airing any Laruku this week because according to the schedule from the Popjam website, Laruku isn't there yet but Ai Otsuka is.

I love this PV. It's just beautiful. I swear this is one of my favorites. I love the way it was presented with the members of L'Arc~en~Ciel in a beautiful mansion and inside a painting. It's superb.
It's about 20+mb and in .wmv format but it's good enough. Decent quality ^_^

Can i just mention how addicted I am to the japanese drama Gokusen? I mentioned in my other journal that someone gave me a copy of episodes 1-11. I don't have the final episode which is 12 yet because SARS, the subbing team hasn't finished subbing it yet but i hope they'll be done soon. I love the series. For my friends who have not seen this drama yet, it stars Nakama Yukie (Sadako of Ring 0) and Matsumoto Jun of Arashi. Nakama Yukie is a school teacher who is teaching a bunch of bad apples but she has her own secret ^_~ She's the grand daughter of a Yakuza leader and she's can't tell the school or else her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher will be over. Her class might be the worst class in their school but eventually they'll be the best students you'll ever have. waaahhhh!!!! I know I've seen the anime but i never paid attention but now i will.

I don't usually make updates right away after the other one but I just wantto share that I watched popjam today and I saw L'Arc~en~Ciel. Thanks to Len-san's entry in her lj, I found out that NHK changed schedules again. It seems like they re-formatted the show. The hosts are now T.M Revolution, 2 other guys and one girl. I got used to Yuka though but Let's give them a chance ^^

Here's a pic of laruku in the Natsu no Yuutsu thing. I fin this pic fascinating even if I wasn't really a fan of their indies look but i find this one relaxing in a way. I find Sakura pretty attractive in these pictures.

I'm so happy i got to download Gackt's sixt day album thing and Core of Soul's latest i think. I'm not sure but I'm happy i snagged them off communities. They're really pretty. I wasn't able to download anything laruku today except for Tetsu69's White Out ~Memory of a Color. I love that version. It's so soothing to the ears. I hope when i get back home, i get to hear more of ellegarden. Even if they're not that unique, i just find them very interesting.

It was my prom last March 19 and I decided to have my gown made sort of like Yuna's of FFX. A modern Kimono with detached sleeves.

Lately I had been listening to a lot of Shiina Ringo's songs. The first 2 songs i listened to were Gibs and honnou. Actually I didn't listen to them. I saw the PVs and I found the songs interesting and 2 years later, i'm listening to her albums. I'm exploring her music and so far, she's great! My favorite songs would have to be, Yami ni Furu Ame, Gibs, Honnou, Tsumi to Batsu, Kyougenshou, Yokushitsu, and her duet with Kusano Masamune called Haiiro no Hitomi. You guys should check out her songs. THey're actually pretty good. You should also try out Tokyo Jihen. Shiina Ringo's band. They're doing pretty well in japan now.

Exams are finally over! Finally! All I have to worry about now is my report card on the 1st of april.
There so much to do this week even if it's vacation. I'm helping out in some things for school.
L'ARC~EN~CIEL~~~ POPJAM!!!!! They're appearing in popjam again this april 8th but the schedule is still temporary because they might change it.

There aren't much stuff happening in the japanese music industry but all i know is, L'Arc~en~Ciel is really catching up on their releases after their 1 yr? 2 yr hiatus as a band.
Lately, I had been really addicted to Ellegarden and Asian Kung Fu Generation. I actually appreciate their music to think that I'm not really fond of that type of music. They actually sound very good
As for Ellegarden, I like their song addicted very much. You get really "addicted" once you hear it. They're not really unique but they're quite good. They're music isn't really unique in a sense that when you hear the song it's like something you heard from 3-4 other bands. As for AKFG, their songs are fun. Super! It's so head banging.
Anyway, Hyde visited the members of his site and gave them showed his webcam to the people chatting with him.

HOLY MAN! I JUST FINISHED DOWNLOADING KAGEN NO TSUKI!!! For those who don't know what kagen no tsuki ~ last quarter is, it's Hyde's (L'Arc~en~Ciel's vocalist) second movie (first one was moonchild). Moonchild finished downloading the other day and now Kagen! I'm so happy i have lots of things to watch this vacation! 4 days more and I'm free!!!!
I can't watch kagen yet because it's exam week and I might not be able to study. But what's great is that Kagen no Tsuki had subtitles! yey!
As much as i want to be on hiatus this week, i can't because livejournal is one of the only things that keeps me sane specially now that it's exam week. I'll post stuff tomorrow i guess ^_^ Right now, I'm just really really really really happy!!!!

Changed my layout today! It's version 2.1 feturing P'unk~en~Ciel. I know it's simple but I really don't have time to make fancy ones right now.
I read so much stuff about laruku today.... about the conflict between the members, the band and sony and their solo works. I didn't know that it was that complicated for them.
I finally found out the thing about Sakura. The band didn't want to kick him out of the group but people have a feeling that Sony did. Utada Hikaru once said in an english interview that she can't really be herself when recording her japanese works because works have to be clean. Because Sakura got arrested, bad record for Sakura = bye bye larc. Sony want's a clean image for their artists just like any other recording company in Japan. Fans got mad about this, the Sakura thing and Tetsu kind of got fed up as well because of all the things that the people are saying so here comes the song Bravery. Bravery is a song that went both ways. Larc gained fans but lost some old ones too. I think it's because people were saying that Laruku lost it already. That they were better with SAkura around. Poor Yuki. I like Yuki ^_^

Anyway, here's a part of the Glay meets Tetsu interview from The Ark
Tetsu: I wasn't having a rest for 2 1/2 years. It was more hard work. I had to do everything by myself. And it's sad to say but I've treated differently. I'm a bassist of LArc but they didn't really interested in my solo act.
Takurou: Ah~, --
Tetsu: I don't recommend you to be a solo artist! I think it's good you don't allow your member to do solo.
Takurou: Yes. For example, our guitarist Hisashi, what he really wants to do is totally different from GLAY. When we had drink together, I've asked whether he wanted to continue as a member of Glay. (laugh) He sometimes brings music he wrote and says he wants to do the music like that. He does everything. In his demo track, there's no space for my guitar or Jiro's bass. If you do that much, you can take at least a guest vocal in your tune. Please do what you want, I said.
Tetsu: Maji de!?
Takurou: Then he said, "Ja, Teru de.". (want Teru to sing.) If he sings, that's GLAY jan. I felt he takes a balance on his way.
Tetsu: Sokka~.....
Takurou: Ja, while playing a song, plse tell me the name of who has been cold to you.
Tetsu: Oh, no no no...(laugh)
Takurou: I'll tell him off later.
I think this one says a lot about what Tetsu really feels. Some people think that Sony was pressuring Laruku too much. But some say, Tetsu kind of got fed up with the fact that newer fans don't know Laruku as L'Arc~en~Ciel with Tetsu, Hyde, Yukihiro and Ken, or any position of the names but now L'Arc~en~Ciel is known as Hyde and the other 3 laruku members. I know it sounds like Tetsu is becoming envious but no he's not. He just wants us to know L'Arc~en~Ciel as the 4 members who create great music and who will continue to make great music. It's not just Hyde or Tetsu or Yukihiro or Ken. Although we must admit that Hyde is getting so much of the attention now. I'm a Hyde fan but I noticed and I think Tetsu and the others shold be given more credit than what they're getting now.
Another thing discussed was why Tetsu's solo work Warner Music instead of Sony? Hyde's solo work was still at Sony only under Haunted Records, S.O.A.P was under Mavrick or the smaller branch of Sony and I think moved to Danger and Acid Android was Sony as well but moved to Danger and then Tracks on Drugs. Tetsu was under Warner probably because he felt that his solo work wouldn't be as taken cared of as other solo artists (I think this one is pertaining to Hyde).
But now let's balance things. Hyde never got swell headed. He didn't expect Roentgen to do well in the market and he was right. It didn't do so well but it still sold. Tetsu isn't satisfied with his solo work because it didn't do well either. Although fans had been wondering, Tetsu had been known to write happier music for laruku but in his solo work, it didn't sound so happy. Some even interpreted some songs as his feelings toward his break-up with K.M (ELT) which was neither admited nor confirmed. Only Tetsu knows what's happening now. But surely they didn't get married nor were they engaged.
